Job Title: Development Engineer - Seating

Job Description

As a Development Engineer in Seating, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and resolving production and field issues related to automotive seating. You will support engineering changes, address functional and electrical issues, and ensure the smooth implementation of design modifications.

Responsibilities

+ Analyze and understand production and field issues related to automotive seating.

+ Correct Bill of Materials (BoM) issues and updates.

+ Identify and implement countermeasures for functional and electrical issues.

+ Prepare and execute engineering changes, including issuing EC, KEM, and Smaragd updates.

+ Find part substitutions and develop short-term deviation solutions, creating and driving Product Development Requests (PDR).

+ Manage topics related to fasteners and other components.

+ Prepare documentation for meetings and various engineering tasks.

+ Perform miscellaneous tasks, such as writing Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders (PR/PO), as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in parts development and liaison engineering.

+ Proficiency in supplier development and quality management.

+ Expertise in automotive seating and related standards such as VDA.

+ Ability to manage engineering changes and project management tasks.

+ Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in automotive seating engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with plastic trims and covers, primarily BR 167.

+ Knowledge of rim covers and foams.

+ Support experience for structure changes, with collaboration with teams in Germany.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Vance, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $59.00/hr.
