Job Title: TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technician to join our team in a pathology laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations through meticulous organization, processing, and quality assurance tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Organize blocks in numerical and alphabetical order for efficient block filing.
+ Operate the block melter for block melting tasks.
+ Perform block quality assurance, particularly with Beaker Go Live, involving computer work.
+ Pick up rush tissue cassettes and load them onto the tissue processor.
+ Operate the xylene recycler for recycling tasks.
+ Clean molds using the mold cleaning unit.
+ Pick up tool boxes as required.
+ Change routine H&E stainer as part of daily operations.
+ Pull blocks for recuts when necessary.
+ Assist in changing tissue processors as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in laboratory operations and procedures.
+ Experience with tissue processing.
+ Basic computer skills for QA tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Degree in Biology or relevant experience preferred.
Work Environment
Work as part of the histology team within a pathology laboratory at our main campus. This role requires collaboration with team members and interaction with various laboratory instrumentation.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
