Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate

Job Description

As a Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will operate a stand-up forklift to manage the shipping and receiving of materials at a food manufacturing plant. You will also supply materials to the production line and remove materials when necessary, ensuring efficient and quality order filling. This role involves working closely with the Warehouse Manager and Materials Manager.

Responsibilities

+ Operate stand-up forklifts for shipping and receiving tasks.

+ Supply materials to production lines and remove them as needed.

+ Manage inbound and outbound orders efficiently.

+ Adhere to all GMP policies and safety procedures.

+ Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems for inventory management.

+ Enter data into a warehouse management system to track orders.

+ Use a Bill of Lading to track the receipt of goods and carrier information.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 1-year experience driving a forklift.

+ Proficiency in operating stand-up and reach truck forklifts.

+ Knowledge of safety procedures related to forklift operation.

+ Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.

+ Ability to perform computer data entry for inventory management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Understanding of production and general labor processes in a food manufacturing environment.

+ Ability to adapt to varying work paces and communicate effectively with supervisors.

Work Environment

The position operates in a climate-controlled food manufacturing plant, which includes working in refrigerators and freezers for extended periods. Employees must comply with health and safety guidelines and wear PPE such as hairnets, gowns, bump caps, protective glasses, and steel-toed shoes. The work environment is clean, well-lit, and fast-paced. While the facility is climate-controlled, temperatures can reach up to 100 degrees due to machinery and ovens. Shifts include 1st Shift: 6:30am-3:00pm & 8:00am-4:00pm, with flexibility required between 6:00am and 4:00pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
