Job Title: Setup Operator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Setup Machinist to join our team, working with 3 and 4 axis Okuma machines. The role involves reviewing detailed manufacturing prints and creating or editing G-Code at the machine. You will be responsible for setting up jobs with any necessary programming and fixturing, as well as setting up the machine with required tooling. You will run the machine while checking for errors and part non-conformance, making necessary adjustments for materials, tooling, or machining conditions. Inspecting parts for adherence to print dimensions and tolerances is also part of the job.
Responsibilities
+ Review detailed manufacturing prints.
+ Create and edit G-Code at the machine.
+ Setup jobs with necessary programming and fixturing.
+ Setup the machine with required tooling.
+ Run the machine and check for errors and part non-conformance.
+ Adjust offset coordinates for materials, tooling, or machining conditions.
+ Inspect parts for adherence to print dimensions and tolerances.
+ Work independently with minimal direction to setup jobs, perform machining functions, and troubleshoot issues.
+ Achieve pre-determined efficiency goals when setting up or operating machines.
+ Follow department-specific procedures for machine setup, operation, and part inspection.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of CNC setup or operation experience on lathes or mills.
+ Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, including GD&T features.
+ Ability to manipulate G-Code programs and adjust work and tool offsets.
+ Proficiency in changing, touching-off, and indicating tools for CNC lathes or mills.
+ Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
+ Experience working in a shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with blueprints, micrometers, and calipers.
+ Knowledge of CNC operation, machining, and troubleshooting.
+ Familiarity with OSP and Fanuc controls.
+ Experience with materials like brass, stainless steel, and plastic.
+ Ability to work with indicators and tool changing.

Work Environment
The work environment is extremely clean, with end-of-shift cleaning of your area required. The facility is a large, three-floor building where you will work with various metals, mostly brass, and be trained in different finishes for various product lines. The company is family-owned and has been around for 65 years, employing over 200 people. You will work on a variety of equipment, including buffers and polishers, in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
