• Press Brake Operator

    Aerotek (Fredericksburg, VA)


    We are seeking a skilled Brake Press Operator to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with sheet metal, operating press brake machinery, and using precision measuring tools such as calipers to ensure high-quality production standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Set up and operate brake press machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to specifications.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

    + Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to inspect parts for accuracy and quality.

    + Adjust machine settings to accommodate different materials and thicknesses.

    + Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    + Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.

    + Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a brake press in a sheet metal environment.

    + Proficient in using calipers and other precision measuring instruments.

    + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

    + Basic math and mechanical skills.

    + Familiarity with CNC brake press machines is a plus.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Experience with Amada, Trumpf, or similar brake press brands.

    + Knowledge of sheet metal types, thicknesses, and bending techniques.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and make minor machine repairs.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
