Job Title: Civil DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to perform detailed calculations, quantity take-offs, and other design tasks for commercial, residential, and educational projects. The majority of your work will focus on K-12 projects, although you will also engage in some private sector work, primarily in the commercial field. You will utilize the AutoCAD platform to produce construction documents and employ Civil 3D for design work.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct detailed calculations and quantity take-offs.
+ Create design details for commercial, residential, and educational projects.
+ Work primarily on K-12 projects, with some involvement in commercial projects.
+ Produce construction documents using AutoCAD.
+ Perform design work using Civil 3D.
+ Occasionally visit sites for planning meetings and drawing reviews.
+ Act as an intermediary between junior production staff and project managers.
+ Delegate tasks to junior staff and manage project workflows.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D design.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
+ Experience with grading, surfacing, sanitary/sewer design projects.
+ Site/Land Development project experience.
+ Advanced Civil 3D design skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with K-12 projects is a bonus.
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous.
Work Environment
The role offers a flexible work schedule, with core hours from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. You will primarily work in the office but may need to visit sites once a week. While the average workweek is 45-50 hours, working beyond 40 hours is not mandatory. Hybrid work flexibility is available, requiring three days in the office. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
