    We are seeking an Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineer to join our Reliability and Test team. You will develop and implement test programs for electric vehicle high voltage distribution components and subsystems, such as charge ports, HV harnesses, HV connectors, and powertrain technologies.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement test programs for electric vehicle powertrain technologies.

    + Work directly with design engineers to create design validation test plans.

    + Design and fabricate test equipment for mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems.

    + Perform component, system, and vehicle validation under dynamic and environmental conditions.

    + Collaborate with design engineers to validate and refine models.

    + Analyze test data and write comprehensive test reports.

    + Investigate root causes of failures and contribute to product improvement.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in test setup, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

    + Experience with CAD, preferably SolidWorks.

    + Python scripting or similar programming skills.

    + High voltage safety awareness.

    + Hands-on experience in designing and building test setups.

    + Strong mechanical and electrical fundamentals including framing, pumps, heat exchangers, and wiring.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with a preference for a Mechanical degree.

    + 2+ years of experience in physical testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems.

    + Automotive component/system testing experience, including certification testing.

    + Experience with data acquisition and analysis software such as Python or Matlab.

    + Expertise in designing test setups for mechanical and thermal performance testing.

    + Experience in creating and executing design validation plans and test methods.

    + Working knowledge of heat transfer and thermal management.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working in a dynamic environment with hands-on tasks, utilizing modern technologies and equipment. The team collaborates closely with design engineers to ensure effective testing and validation of electric vehicle components. The position may require working under various environmental conditions to ensure comprehensive product testing.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palo Alto, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
