Job Title: Automation Technician Level 2 – Robotics, PLC & 3D Printer Maintenance
**Pay:** $35-45/hr
Shifts:
A: 7a-3pm M-F
B: 3-11pm M-F
C: 5am-5pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician
Level 2 to support our cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing operations. This
role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing robotic systems,
programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial 3D printers to ensure
peak performance and minimal downtime across automated production lines.
Key Responsibilities
• Robotics Maintenance & Support
+ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
+ Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in robotic cells.
+ Assist in robot programming, path optimization, and integration with PLCs and HMIs.
• PLC Systems Maintenance
+ Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
+ Modify ladder logic and function block diagrams to improve system performance.
+ Maintain and update PLC documentation, backups, and change logs.
• 3D Printer Maintenance & Support
+ Perform routine maintenance and calibration of industrial 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.).
+ Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to additive manufacturing systems.
+ Replace and align print heads, clean build platforms, and manage material handling systems.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize print quality and throughput.
• Automation System Optimization
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation upgrades and retrofits.
+ Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
+ Support commissioning of new automation equipment and systems.
• Safety & Compliance
+ Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and safety standards.
+ Participate in risk assessments and safety audits for automated systems.
+ Maintain lockout/tagout procedures and documentation.
• Technical Documentation & Reporting
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, downtime events, and repairs.
+ Create and update technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
+ Provide training and support to junior technicians and operators.
Qualifications
+ Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience in robotics, PLC, and 3D printer maintenance in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred).
+ Familiarity with robotic and additive manufacturing systems, including safety protocols.
+ Strong understanding of industrial sensors, actuators, and control systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency calls as needed.
Preferred Skills
+ Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profinet).
+ Knowledge of vision systems, robotic end-of-arm tooling, and 3D printing technologies.
+ Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and cleanroom protocols.
+ Basic understanding of Python, C++, or other automation scripting languages.

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
