As an RF Test Engineer, you will contribute to the development of software and hardware solutions for functional and diagnostic testing of various communication electronic assemblies and test equipment. You will engage daily in understanding and capturing customer requirements and defining the automation of test scenarios. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong grasp of both hardware and software testing principles, knowledge of automation tools and frameworks, and a passion for solving complex problems.
Responsibilities
+ Perform requirements analysis by studying technical OEM documentation, schematics, and UUT behavior to determine test requirements.
+ Assist in designing wiring harnesses and accessories, including generating electrical schematics, wire lists, and bills of materials to connect UUT I/O to test station I/O.
+ Procure necessary components and materials for testing.
+ Develop automated test programs to implement defined test requirements, applying stimuli and measuring outputs from the UUT.
+ Utilize revision control software for all source and document data.
+ Debug and troubleshoot to resolve failure conditions during development and as reported by end users.
+ Execute manual and automated tests to verify product functionality, performance, and reliability.
+ Analyze test results and identify the root cause of failures.
+ Interface with customers as required.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in software development and writing automated test programs, with at least 3 years of experience in coding, preferably in C# or an OOP language.
+ Familiarity with test and measurement equipment, including RF spectrum analyzers, RF generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
+ Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and assembly drawings.
+ Experience in RF test equipment, tactical/airborne radio logistics, and object-oriented software development languages such as C, C++, and C#.
+ Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with MATLAB and LabVIEW.
+ Knowledge in tactical or airborne radios.
+ Understanding of RF measurements and the application of principles, theories, concepts, practices, and standards related to modern software-defined architectures.
+ Ability to develop documentation including test requirements documents, validation plans, validation reports, and version descriptions.
+ Familiarity with writing programs to remotely set up radios and take measurements from power meters, receivers, and generators in C#.
+ Understanding of basic functions tested on RF transmitters/receivers, such as power, modulation, sensitivity, selectivity, and frequency.
+ Comfort with using equipment/tools like spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, receivers, and RF/signal generators.
Work Environment
The work schedule follows a 9/80 plan, offering a balanced work-life arrangement. The role may require travel and customer interface. The team is building an engineering center of excellence in Orlando, FL, focusing on radio test equipment primarily for military support, and is poised for significant growth with upcoming projects.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $48.00/hr.
