Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description
As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with Production and Engineering teams to investigate supplier and operational quality issues. You will ensure these issues are well defined and communicated to the cross-functional team. You will assess the impact of these issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a path forward to mitigate production line downtime risks. Additionally, you will manage the coordination and disposition of nonconformance through Process Change Notifications or Deviations, assist in root cause analysis, and support NPI projects.
Responsibilities
+ Review rejects from both incoming quality inspection and the production floor.
+ Investigate critical quality issues, create problem statements, and communicate with the cross-functional team.
+ Manage and coordinate containment activities (sorting/rework) to minimize the impact on production operations due to quality issues.
+ Support problem-solving and continuous improvement projects.
+ Coordinate the disposition of Process Change Notifications and Deviations.
Essential Skills
+ Strong communication and writing skills.
+ Ability to read blueprints.
+ Engineering knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
+ 2-4 years of experience preferred.
+ Proficiency in reading drawings.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment
This position will initially be a first shift position for the first 2.5-5 months. Following this period, it will transition to a second shift position with hours from 3 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Friday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
