We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team in a mail-order specialty pharmacy setting. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing and verifying prescriptions, ensuring all clinical and quality standards are met, and providing education and support to patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct prescription review and data quality checks to ensure accuracy in medication, dose, strength, directions, quantity, and patient information.
+ Handle inbound and outbound calls from healthcare provider offices, pharmacies, and patients, addressing questions and providing medication education.
+ Oversee pharmacy technician work, ensuring accurate dispensing of medication orders.
+ Communicate with prescribers to confirm dosing and administration, ensuring safe and correct dispensing for patients.
+ Monitor drug therapies and report adverse events and product complaints in accordance with regulations.
+ Provide counseling to patients on medication use, potential adverse events, and strategies to minimize risks.
+ Stay informed of pharmacy laws and changes, completing continuing education courses for license renewal.
+ Ensure compliance with program guidelines and maintain confidentiality of information.
+ Collaborate with call center and program staff, providing subject matter expertise and operational support.
+ Maintain quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
+ Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies regarding medication incidents.
+ Supervise and develop staff through performance reviews, goal setting, and ongoing coaching.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience as a Pharmacist in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting.
+ B.S. Pharm degree is required; PharmD is preferred.
+ Current and valid Pharmacist state license, in good standing.
+ Proficiency in data entry, pharmacy operations, and prescription review.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Knowledge of FDA health regulations and pharmacology.
+ Ability to analyze information, administer medication, and demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making.
+ Proficiency with basic computer programs and ability to handle multiple requests efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in high volume and call-center environments.
+ Customer service skills and attention to detail.
+ Focus on quality and legal compliance.
Work Environment
This is an onsite, closed-door, mail-order specialty pharmacy. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 8am to 10pm, with shifts typically falling between 8am and 8pm. There may be potential for starting at 6am or working weekends in the future. The training schedule includes onboarding for the first two to two and a half days, with program-specific training lasting approximately four weeks. Training hours are from 8:30am to 5:00pm EST, and candidates should be available for the entirety of the training period.

This is a Contract position based out of Lake Mary, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
