    Project Engineer

    Role Overview

    Seeking a technically skilled Project Engineer to lead capital projects within a regulated manufacturing facility. This role combines engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, requiring hands-on involvement in the design, specification, implementation, and validation of facilities, bulk manufacturing, and packaging systems. The position is 100% onsite for the first six months.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Serve as the technical lead for capital projects, applying sound engineering principles throughout design and execution.

    + Develop and review documentation including URS, DFMEA, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and scopes of work.

    + Lead design reviews and ensure alignment with process, safety, and regulatory standards.

    + Manage projects exceeding $1MM from concept to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.

    + Apply industry-standard methodologies across all phases:

    + Planning & Design: Scope, budget, milestones, URS, RFPs, DFMEA, vendor selection.

    + Execution & Implementation: FAT, SAT, commissioning, CQV.

    + Monitoring & Closure: After Action Reviews, change control, asset handover.

    + Lead cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and consultants.

    + Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety, and quality standards.

    + Maintain organized project documentation and support change control.

    + Control project costs, cash flow, and schedules.

    + Support purchasing, receiving, and invoicing tasks.

    + Proactively track progress, communicate updates, and resolve issues to maintain critical milestones.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or Engineering Management).

    + Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

    + Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and external partners.

    + Strong ownership, initiative, and accountability.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Willingness to adjust work schedule to support project execution.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with AutoCAD, MS Project, and capital budget management.

    + PMP certification or equivalent.

    + Familiarity with SAP (a plus).

    + Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or cosmetics.

    + Exposure to liquid packaging lines (helpful, not required).

    + Strong communicator across documentation, email, and vendor interactions.

    + Flexible team player, able to adapt to shifting priorities.

    + Balances long-term projects with immediate production needs.

    + Comfortable with technical documentation and reporting.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $63.00/hr.
