Job Title: Aerospace Quality Engineer
Job Description
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that both in-process and final quality standards are met for the assigned program or area. You will work to ensure that products are built in accordance with customer and division quality requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Review design drawings, operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses to ensure compliance with division and customer quality requirements.
+ Support the contract review process.
+ Interpret AS9100C, ISO9001:2008, ASQR-01, and other customer, material, or process specifications.
+ Perform internal audits, with experience in AS9100 internal audits being a plus.
+ Provide quality support to the Engineering group with New Product Introduction (NPI) and analysis of nonconforming parts.
+ Interact with the Customer Service Department to resolve customer issues.
+ Respond to customer Corrective Action Requests (CAR) with appropriate and effective process improvements.
+ Work directly with customers to resolve quality issues.
+ Support the Purchasing group with material procurement, special process, and approved supplier requirements.
+ Generate quality metrics and review quality trends to mitigate process risk and implement process improvements.
+ Measure and monitor supplier performance.
+ Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action using tools such as 8D and 5 Whys.
+ Lead and support Quality Clinic activities.
+ Maintain quality records to ensure compliance with all regulations.
+ Implement new inspection tools and technologies, such as CMM and vision systems.
+ Support continuous improvement projects.
+ Communicate quality requirements to suppliers to prevent nonconforming products.
+ Work directly with suppliers to resolve and prevent nonconforming product issues.

+ AS9100
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer
+ Experience in aerospace or small metal parts
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Four-year degree or 5 years of inspection experience plus 2 to 3 years as a Quality Engineer or equivalent
+ Working knowledge of statistical process control
+ Working knowledge of lean principles
+ Knowledge of the company quality system and contractual quality requirements
+ Ability to validate inspections, interpret GD&T blueprints, and perform shop math, including trigonometry
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office
+ Effective human relations skills to motivate and convince others of problem-solving solutions
+ Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Work Environment
The Quality Engineer will join a team currently consisting of two Quality Engineers, making this position the third, reporting to the Quality Manager. The role involves working alongside nine inspectors and one inspection supervisor. The job requires standing for extended periods, the ability to lift 40 pounds frequently, and occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, balancing, and climbing.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
