Hiring for an Application Engineer in Farmington!
Job Description
The Applications Engineer will play a pivotal role in the Sales and Applications areas by conducting product demonstrations, time studies, and providing post-sales customer application support. This role involves not only demonstrating applications for customer demos but also collaborating with customers after installation to support startup and production.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct exemplary customer product and production flow demonstrations and attend trade shows to boost product sales, focusing on punching and combination machines.
+ Provide customer application and sales support using digital solutions.
+ Perform parts and gripper analysis for producibility and time studies, and produce customer sample parts and grippers.
+ Continuously enhance technology knowledge by participating in training and machine testing functions.
+ Manage the assigned technology in the production showroom environment.
+ Organize and provide customer product training courses, focusing on programming and operating equipment.
+ Consult and demonstrate the latest machine technology solutions related to Industry 4.0, utilizing all relevant hardware, software, and services to become a technology expert.
+ Collaborate with product centers and other subsidiaries to provide feedback on product development and improvement ideas for existing or new products in the field of bending technology.
+ Travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily within the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in sheet metal work.
+ Proficiency with CAD software.
+ New product development knowledge.
+ Sales support experience.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, due to extensive contact with customers and sales representatives.
+ Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly and operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with TRUMPF products is a plus.
+ Desire for knowledge in programming and bending product knowledge.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing technologies and production software systems.
Work Environment
The work environment involves working with advanced technologies and equipment, including programming and operating machinery. The role may require lifting and operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes. The position includes travel, estimated at 30%, primarily within the USA, Mexico, and Canada, to support demonstrations, training, and customer support.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Farmington, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
