    Job Title: Mechanical Door Repairer and Installer

    Job Description

    The Mechanical Door Repairer and Installer is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical and automatic door systems, including garage doors, hydraulic closers, and electronic access mechanisms. This role ensures doors operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Install door frames, tracks, rails, and hardware for automatic, sliding, revolving, and overhead doors.

    + Set up electronic-eye mechanisms, electric openers, and closers using power and hand tools.

    + Diagnose and repair worn or broken parts, including springs, rollers, and sensors.

    + Adjust doors for proper alignment and smooth operation; make electrical adjustments to openers.

    + Lubricate moving parts and perform preventive maintenance.

    + Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine installation or repair methods.

    + Run low-voltage wiring for automated systems and connect control panels.

    + Follow OSHA and company safety standards during all installations and repairs.

    + Inspect job sites to ensure proper clearance and compliance with building codes.

    + Communicate effectively with clients, explain repair needs, and provide maintenance advice.

    + Complete work orders and collect payment upon job completion.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-5 years of experience in mechanical repair or door installation.

    + Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

    + Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, and safety regulations.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.

    + Experience with access control and electrified hardware.

    + Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.

    Work Environment

     

    Work from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, engaging with a variety of door systems and installations. Utilize both power and hand tools to ensure doors function smoothly and safely.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
