Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks on building systems, including HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical panels, and fire safety equipment. You will ensure optimal production efficiency by maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and vacuum systems, diagnosing mechanical issues, and implementing corrective actions.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks on building systems, including HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical panels, and fire safety equipment.

+ Perform scheduled lubrication and filter changes on machinery.

+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all manufacturing equipment and vacuum systems.

+ Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions.

+ Conduct preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections.

+ Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals to understand equipment operation and repair procedures.

+ Experience as a maintenance technician

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent experience repairing pumps and industrial machinery

+ Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment

+ Ability to read technical manuals

+ Basic knowledge of pneumatic, vacuum, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Work Environment

Work onsite in a casual attire environment, where lab coats are provided to wear over your clothes. The company is an electronics manufacturer of satellite communication systems for the aerospace, space, and defense industry, located in Uniondale, NY. The team includes over 200 engineers and manufacturing personnel. Working hours are from 7:30 am to 5:15 pm, with every other Friday off.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Uniondale, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

9/80 work weeks. Employees complete 80 hours of week in 9 days and have every other Friday off (three day weekend every other weekend)

Company provides contractors with paid holidays (matching internal employee holidays) after 30 days

Company is located near public transportation
