Job Title: Forklift Technician
Job Description
As a Forklift Technician, you will be responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting on various models of material handling equipment. You will be tasked with maintaining service and support for this equipment at customer locations in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring that all customer requirements are met. This role requires proficiency with data input and paperwork necessary to complete job requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Repair or replace major system components, including circuit boards, electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering, transmissions, and engines with limited supervision.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose most material handling equipment components.
+ Perform engine tune-ups on most makes of equipment without supervision.
+ Execute proper preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks.
+ Perform and maintain proper battery maintenance on electric equipment.
+ Use and maintain all specialty trade tools properly.
+ Operate service van in a clean, safe, and secure manner, following all required safety rules.
+ Follow all safety procedures and company policies to complete work assignments safely.
+ Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
+ Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts.
+ Maintain a valid driver's license at all times as driving is an essential function.
+ Collaborate with all departments and employees to ensure quality customer service.
+ Report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe working conditions.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in forklift repair and troubleshooting.
+ Proficiency in hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
+ Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
+ Minimum two years of experience in repair and maintenance on material handling equipment.
+ Customer service skills and abilities.
+ Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma, G.E.D., or technical school graduate preferred.
+ Capability to become certified to operate equipment.
+ Willingness and ability to frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach.
+ Adequate set of personal tools as required.
+ Valid driver's license.

Work Environment
You will work in a distribution and industrial environment alongside a Lead Technician. Proper safety attire, such as steel toe boots and a mechanic outfit, is required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Desoto, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
