    Job Title: General Laborer

    Job Description

    The General Laborer is responsible for manually moving freight, stock, or other materials and performing general unskilled labor tasks to support operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.

    + Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material/equipment needs.

    + Record the number of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets.

    + Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers—either manually or using equipment such as trucks and tractors.

    + Sort cargo before loading and unloading.

    + Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber.

    + Load and unload ship cargo using winches and other hoisting devices.

    + Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.

    + Transport tools and supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.

    + Familiarity with equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies related to local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
