    We are seeking a dedicated Drafter to collaborate with engineering staff in the preparation, editing, and execution of design documentation using native PLM and PDM systems. This role is crucial for generating technical documents, verifying their accuracy, and preparing first drafts of change orders for engineering review and submittal. Ancillary duties include data entry, data correction, and high-level data analysis using pivot tables. The role demands a proactive individual ready to enhance productivity with minimal adjustment time.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with engineering staff to prepare and edit design documentation.

    + Generate accurate technical documents and verify their accuracy.

    + Prepare first drafts of change orders for engineering review and submittal.

    + Conduct data entry and correction in software systems.

    + Perform high-level data analysis using pivot tables.

    + Create assembly drawings using SolidWorks models and coordinate with the engineering manager.

    + Work remotely, in-office, or in a hybrid setup, accessing the network via VPN.

    + Ensure 90% completion of assembly drawings before passing them to the responsible engineer.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in SolidWorks and NX CAD.

    + Experience with GD&T Y14.5 standards.

    + Expertise in PLM systems such as Teamcenter and Arena.

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.

    + Ability to provide detailed sample work with GD&T, measurements, and redlines.

    + High attention to detail.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Open to fresh graduates with an Associate's degree.

    + Preferred 2+ years of experience.

    + Experience in the engineering or manufacturing industries.

    + Background in aviation or military sectors.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in an urban industrial office space, soon moving to a new 65,000 sq. ft. building in South Austin. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5/6 pm, with flexibility to accommodate early arrivals and late departures when needed. The office is equipped with high-level technology, offering opportunities for growth in a smaller company setting.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
