POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to lead and oversee the proposal team **(approximately 7 employees)** for Aetna Mental Well-Being and Resources for Living. This role supports the Aetna Mental Well-being Sales support team, setting strategic goals and ensuring the effective execution of sales support activities. The **Senior Manager, Proposals** is a highly skilled communicator and writer who can organize and lead a team to meet high volume and high complexity of proposal needs for our business. The role requires strong writing and partnership skills with the business to ensure capabilities and strategy are represented in RFP responses.
**Position may sit anywhere in the US.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Collaborates with sales and account management leaders to develop sales support strategies, allocate resources, and prioritize sales projects.
+ Manages the end-to-end proposal development process, including preparing, writing, editing, and reviewing proposal content.
+ Analyzes sales performance metrics, provides insights to senior leadership, and makes data-driven decisions to optimize the sales support process.
+ Defines win themes, value propositions, and key messages within proposals.
+ Effectively joins forces with internal leaders and department subject matter experts to create persuasive and compelling narratives that effectively communicate the company's value proposition, capabilities, and solutions.
+ Interprets slides, data insights, flyers or other assets and translates them into proposal language.
+ Develops proposal strategies and project plans that align with business objectives and meets customer requirements.
+ Effectively allocates team resources to manage the end-to-end process of developing and submitting proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) and other business opportunities.
+ Establishes and project manages proposal timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure the timely submission of high-quality proposals.
+ Conducts research on customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape to inform proposal development.
+ Implements standardized templates, formats, and style guides to maintain consistency and continually enhance the readability of proposals.
+ Oversees ongoing training to ensure all team members are fully versed on company value proposition and excelling within their respective roles.
+ Leverages a data-driven approach and regular, timely feedback to inform team performance and effectively provides regular, timely feedback to drive continuous improvement.
+ Participates in client meetings and supports contract negotiations as needed and fosters strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders to drive sales success.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Minimum 7 years’ work experience working in a proposal department
+ Progressive leadership/mentoring experience
+ Healthcare knowledge
+ Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
+ Excellent writing and communication skills
+ Specialized proposal training and proficiency with Loopio and/or other established proposal tools/database programs.
+ Adept at using AI and other optimization tools.
+ Excellent project management skills driving execution and delivery.
+ Adept at business intelligence.
+ Adept at collaboration and teamwork.
+ Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills.
+ Mastery of growth and development mindset for self and team.
Education
+ Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$67,900.00 - $199,144.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
