    Compounding Pharmacy Technician - Virginia Beach, Virginia

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician who will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepares medication orders by admixing medications under the supervision of a physician, calculating correct dosage volumes

    + Checks all orders for completeness of information, verifies patient information and proper physician authorization

    + Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing

    + Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs. Cleans hood daily or as stated in policy and procedures

    + Logs and dates all drugs being used. Checks drugs for monthly outdate and other quality assurance activities as assigned.

    + Maintains proper control documentation of medications. Completes inventory control of medications

    + Performs efficient data entry into systems used by admixture.

    + Orders medication and supplies as directed

     

    Essential Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High School diploma or equivalent required

    + Three to five years' experience in a pharmacy with IV skills preferred

    + IV certification strongly preferred

    + Experience with Lynx, Epic, Pyxis, Omnicell is preferred

    + Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board preferred

    Work Environment

    The position offers a weekday schedule from Monday to Friday, with day shifts. Flexibility to travel to other locations as needed.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
