Job Title: Aerospace Engineering Technician - Machining
Job Description
The Engineering Technician provides essential technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team. This role is pivotal in facilitating the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyzing NDE data, and tracking inspector assignments and progress. The technician will coordinate inspection assignments, track inspector results, request vendor quotes, monitor progress to meet schedule requirements, and verify compliance upon delivery. The primary goal of the R&D Lab is to create a universal inspection method for all aerospace parts across various aerospace companies by performing and perfecting non-destructive evaluations like Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Borescope Techniques.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical and inventory support under the direction of NDE Engineers for commercial and military engines.
+ Prepare parts for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.
+ Coordinate inspection assignments and track the progress of inspector results.
+ Request quotes from vendors and monitor progress to ensure schedule requirements are met.
+ Verify that requirements are met upon delivery.
+ Communicate effectively with all levels of management and internal and external customers.
+ Utilize root cause analysis and process control tools.
+ Support the training and auditing of NDT systems.
Essential Skills
+ Associate Degree or 1+ year as a Technician in a Manufacturing Setting.
+ Lab Experience from school or internships.
+ Scientific Theory Experience from school or internships.
+ Proficiency in Excel.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with training and auditing NDT systems.
+ Background in establishing NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods.
+ Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.
+ Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite.
+ Database management, troubleshooting, machinist apprenticeship, CNC machining.
+ FPI, Eddy Current Testing, Ultrasonic Testing.
+ Advanced degree or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
+ Experience in NDE, measurement/instrumentation, design, and report writing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
