Join a dynamic team in the Component Products Department, where you'll collaborate with technicians and engineers to build and maintain wiring harnesses and lab equipment. As a Lab Support Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining lab equipment, building and reworking wiring harnesses, and supporting testing activities. This position requires interpreting schematics, executing engineering changes, logging metrics, and ensuring all equipment is ready for use while closely working with engineers and other technicians.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and support lab equipment and wiring harnesses.
+ Interpret schematics and execute engineering changes.
+ Log and track metrics to ensure equipment readiness.
+ Collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians.
+ Perform precise hand tasks and work in ESD-safe environments.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in building and reworking wiring harnesses/panels in lab or production settings.
+ Proficient in crimping, soldering, and reading schematics/pinouts.
+ Familiarity with HIL environments such as dSPACE, NI, and ETAS, and interfaces like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
+ Experience with fault insertion units, load banks, relay matrices, and protection circuits.
+ Proficiency in harness documentation tools including AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, E3, and Zuken.
+ Experience using lab instruments such as DMM, cable testers, power supplies, and scopes.
+ Strong attention to detail, documentation, and safety practices.
+ Clear communication skills and good time management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ IPC/WHMA-A-620 or IPC J-STD-001 certification, or willingness to obtain.
+ Experience in building panels with DIN-rail, terminal blocks, fusing, labeling, and grounding/shielding.
+ Familiarity with cable test systems and hipot procedures.
+ Basic mechanical skills such as drilling, tapping, and enclosure layout, and/or 3D printing.
+ Experience with CAD documentation, revision control, and lab operations.
+ Ability to assist with machining and 3D-printed brackets.

Technicians should be prepared to stand for extended periods and perform precise hand tasks in a collaborative and safety-focused setting. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chillicothe, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
