Company Overview:

We are a fast-paced, customer-focused retail company headquartered in Poughkeepsie, NY. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products and service to our B2B and B2C clients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist to support our finance team on a contract basis.

Position Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing the collections process for our B2B customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to collections, and proven experience working with commercial clients in a retail or product-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage a portfolio of B2B accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.

+ Contact customers via phone, email, and other channels to follow up on overdue invoices and resolve payment issues.

+ Monitor aging reports and escalate delinquent accounts as needed.

+ Work closely with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.

+ Maintain accurate records of customer communications, payment commitments, and collection efforts.

+ Assist in month-end close processes related to accounts receivable.

+ Recommend accounts for credit hold or third-party collections based on internal policies.

+ Ensure compliance with company credit and collections policies.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Minimum of 3 years of tax preparation experience in a CPA firm or similar environment

+ Proficiency in preparing individual, trust, S-corp, and partnership tax returns

+ Strong knowledge of current federal and state tax laws and regulations

+ Experience with tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar)

+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills

+ Ability to work on-site in White Plains, NY throughout the duration of the contract

Contract Duration:

+ Long-term contract through the end of tax season (with potential for extension)
