    Description

    Our client, a large-scale construction and development firm located in Escondido, is looking for a reliable and analytical Certified Payroll Administrator to oversee payroll reporting for public works and government-funded projects. This role is ideal for someone who understands the nuances of certified payroll, enjoys working in a fast-paced office setting, and is confident navigating the detailed compliance requirements that come with managing multi-state projects.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Prepare, audit, and submit certified payroll reports for various public works contracts.

    + Ensure accurate and timely entry of employee hours, classifications, and project data.

    + Maintain compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act and state prevailing wage regulations.

    + Work closely with HR to track apprenticeship ratios, union reporting, and fringe benefits.

    + Manage document control for all labor compliance reporting, including LCP Tracker and DIR submissions.

    + Support the accounting department with payroll journal entries and reconciliations as needed.

    Requirements

    + 2–5 years of certified payroll experience in construction or public works.

    + Strong understanding of prevailing wage and labor compliance laws.

    + Proficiency in MS Excel and at least one major payroll or accounting platform (e.g., Foundation, Sage, or ADP).

    + Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

    + A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
