    Description

    We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team on a Contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will manage financial operations for a dynamic organization while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all bookkeeping tasks. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale institution and work in a fast-paced environment located in West Des Moines, Iowa.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and process deposits, including cash and check transactions, with precision and timeliness.

    • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

    • Perform thorough bank reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial accounts.

    • Utilize accounting software to maintain and organize financial records.

    • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transitions and support during a capital campaign.

    • Uphold high standards of accuracy and efficiency within a fast-paced organizational culture.

    • Provide support and training alongside the outgoing accountant to ensure seamless knowledge transfer.

    • Prepare financial reports and summaries to assist in organizational decision-making.

    • As needed, verify payroll for approximately 35 employees, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role.

    • Proficiency in any accounting software.

    • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

    • Strong ability to perform bank reconciliations and manage deposit transactions.

    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

    • Knowledge of financial practices within educational or church-related institutions is a plus.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
