Are you a detail-oriented professional with strong payroll expertise and a passion for ensuring accurate and timely compensation? Robert Half is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to assist one of our clients in managing payroll processes and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. As a Payroll Specialist, you will oversee payroll operations, including the processing of employee wages, tax deductions, and compliance with governing laws. This crucial role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining thorough and organized payroll records.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees using payroll software, ensuring accurate calculations for wages, benefits, bonuses, and deductions

+ Verify and correct timesheets, overtime, and accruals for compliance with company policies and labor laws.

+ Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, taxes, and deductions in a prompt and professional manner.

+ Prepare and file tax documents, including payroll taxes, quarterly tax filings, and year-end reporting such as W-2 and 1099 forms.

+ Maintain organized records of payroll activities and ensure data confidentiality.

+ Assist with audits by providing relevant payroll documentation and reports.

+ Stay updated on changes to tax laws and payroll regulations to ensure compliance.

+ Collaborate with HR and accounting departments on employee benefits, changes to payroll, and budgeting.

Requirements

+ Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.

+ Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

+ Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Workday, Paychex, or similar tools.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data entry, calculations, and reporting.

+ Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

+ Outstanding communication and customer service skills.

+ High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
