The Role at a glance:
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing sustainability initiatives within the collegiate dining program. This position ensures that the dining services align with the college’s environmental goals, foster a culture of sustainability among students and staff, and drive measurable improvements in areas such as waste reduction, responsible sourcing, energy efficiency, and community engagement.
What you'll be doing:
+ Design and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy for campus dining operations in collaboration with university sustainability and facilities teams.
+ Establish measurable goals related to food waste reduction, sustainable sourcing, carbon footprint reduction, and resource efficiency.
+ Evaluate current dining practices to identify opportunities for improvement in sustainability performance.
What we're looking for:
_Must-haves:_
+ Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Hospitality Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
+ 3–5 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management, preferably within foodservice or higher education.
+ Strong knowledge of sustainable food systems, waste management, and green operations.
+ Excellent communication, project management, and data analysis skills.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
_Nice-to-haves:_
+ Familiarity with certification programs (e.g., LEED, Green Restaurant Association, AASHE STARS).
+ Experience with zero waste initiatives and life cycle assessment tools.
+ Passion for sustainability education and student engagement.

Compensation Range
Up to $85,000 / year based on experience
