POSITION SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, the Production Manager manages all levels of production operations within a PRIDE Industries production facility, including responsibility for order accuracy, timeliness and quality. Employees in this job class organize and oversee the work of production staff, provide skills training and services, assure a safe worksite environment, and coordinate processes with related departments. This job class requires knowledge of production scheduling and processes, stock and inventory control, and the ability to organize and oversee work procedures for adults who have developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Plans and manages facility production, inventory, and warehousing. Manages labor distribution.
2. *Assists Sales Department with quotes for initial customer contracts, assuring customer satisfaction and quality.
3. *Supervises staff; ensures a competent, motivated staff through hiring, training, counseling, supervising and reviewing the performance of employees.
4. *Confers with customers to ensure clear communication, understand and relate expectations, contracts, and timelines, resolve problems, review and enhance processes, and increase customer satisfaction.
5. *Creates, updates, and runs a variety of reoccurring reports associated with invoices, purchase orders, and production for internal and external customers.
6. *Schedules and prioritizes tasks, and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
7. *Acts as an information source regarding planning, procurement, and department operations.
8. *Maintains professional relationships with outside vendors, participates with Purchasing Department on contract negotiations, and follows up on orders to assure timely delivery of supplies and materials.
9. *Conducts and participates in departmental and other meetings on a regular basis;
10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Five or more years of experience in purchasing, stock control, and inventory management, including at least three years in a supervisory position;
• Knowledge and training in Food Safety (HACCP) and Food Protection programs, National Organic Program (NOP), California Health and Safety Code, Division 104, Part 5 - Sherman Food, Drug and Cosmetic Law: 2008, and FDA’s Quality System Regulations, preferred;
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and/or physical challenges preferred;
• Knowledge of specialized departmental equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, push carts, skinpack and shrink-wrap production packaging equipment;
• Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately;
• Ability to effectively supervise and develop assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees;
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and public;
• Advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
• Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;
• Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems;
• Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in Business Administration or related field
A comparable combination of formal education and work experience will be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Maneuvering in and around equipment
• Bending and stooping
• Pushing carts up to 50 pounds
• Using pallet jack
• Lifting boxes or equipment up to 25 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with forklifts and production equipment. Employees may be exposed to noise from equipment in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to elevated temperatures, high heat, occasional fumes, toxic chemicals, and airborne particles.
