Job Summary
Perform leadership duties to ensure all contributors are trained properly and working safe and efficiently.
Primary Duties
+ Facilitates Training Classes to support New Hire Orientation.
+ Coordinates Training Schedules and onboarding of F/T New Hires and all other Temp/Contract Contributors.
+ Supports Equipment and OJT training schedule for F/T New Hires and Temps.
+ Assists Supervisor and Training Coordinators with planning cross-training schedules.
+ Must be flexible to train on different shifts.
+ Assists Training Manager with creation of Procedures and Forms specific to Equipment and OJT Training.
+ Is able to perform and fully understand all jobs within assigned area, meet training needs and requirements.
+ Ensures daily training requirements are met or exceeded by monitoring and tracking training of personnel.
+ Maintains accurate training records for department and assists with updating Contributor training records.
+ Monitors Contributors for compliance with respect to training.
+ Assists Training Manager and Training Coordinators in motivating new Contributors to perform at optimum productivity and accuracy levels.
+ Supports acclimating new Contributors to Dorman environment and culture.
+ Must have general knowledge of the business and work to be become knowledgeable about all aspect of Operations (different departments and functions).
+ In addition to job specific training, is open to learning and becoming proficient in other training opportunities.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Can present and facilitate training classes in front of large groups (knows PowerPoint).
+ Has excellent math skills.
+ Has excellent performance and safety records – no active warnings in file.
+ Willing to work overtime as required.
+ Adheres to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
+ Must have general knowledge of the business.
+ Has excellent writing (grammar and punctuation) skills. Must possess sound interpersonal and communication skills for writing emails, completing training documents, creating training forms, etc.)
+ Has ability to assume leadership responsibilities, works with minimal supervision and able to follow written/verbal instructions.
+ Is proficient in time management, planning, and forward thinking.
+ Has ability to assist in projects for process improvement.
+ Has ability to adapt, accept, and promote changes while encouraging a team environment to achieve business goals.
+ Has ability to appropriately convey information to assigned team, Supervisors, and Leadership.
+ Ability to follow and promote company policies and procedures.
+ Good analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
+ Working knowledge of SAP, Easy Metrics, RF and Microsoft Office applications.
+ Has Industrial Equipment and Material Handler experience and/or has ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment training course and obtain DPITs license.
+ Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 45 pounds.
+ Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate
Education / Experience
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
+ Strong computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, including Outlook, etc.)
+ Valid equipment certification.
+ Prior experience as Equipment and/or Process Trainer in Distribution environment.
+ PREFERRED: One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
