    The Job You Will Perform:

    The Production Lead position serves as a leader from within the crew, to provide support and guidance to coworkers on all day-to-day production activities. The Production Lead will assist with training of new hires and employees who are new to their role. Additionally, the Production Lead may act as a relief supervisor in the event that the Supervisor is absent. The Production Lead will hold the position in conjunction with their current role and while being expected to perform all duties of their current role.

     

    The Production Lead will ensure work is done on the shift in a timely manner. Production Leads will be expected to ensure the machines and surrounding areas are kept clean and sanitary per SSOP and housekeeping standards. Further, the Production Lead will be expected to ensure daily GMP tasks are completed, documented, and signed.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    + Being responsible and accountable for Food Safety as directed by HACCP and SQF code for Food Packaging Manufacturers.

    + Performing all duties safely following EHS procedures to include: PPE, ECP, PIT/PED safety.

    + Lead and verify machine is clean and prepared to run food safe product. Clean if necessary.

    + Ensure all various documented operator quality checks by all shift members.

    + Assist in upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of the machines in a safe and sanitary manner, to include operator PM’s.

    + Assist in daily production work orders.

    + Responsible for documenting daily production through Production Work Orders. The Production Lead will be responsible for ensuring various communications and recordkeeping practices, including: food safe logs, files, reports, verbal communications, and systems.

    + Lead, prepare and conduct ‘change-overs’ when needed.

    + Complete various operator quality checks; assist with the upkeep of machinery with maintenance to minimize downtime; assist in troubleshooting machine problems. This includes completing various machine operator PM’s.

    + Responsible for participating in food safety with their fellow team members, and ensuring team members participate as well.

    The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:

    To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

    + Must be a current employee at the Salem SpaceKraft facility.

    + Must not have any discipline beyond a verbal warning within the previous rolling 12-month period, including attendance and/or performance discipline.

    + Has been in their job (where they will be performing Production Lead duties) for 1 year or more, unless otherwise determined by business need.

    + Must know all jobs within the department.

    + Must meet/exceed all safety, production, quality, and productivity expectations.

    Additionally, we are looking for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in a successful candidate:

    + Skill in communicating effectively with members of management, quality, all crew members within the department, and team members in other departments.

    + Solid basic math skills

    + Ability to follow written instructions and procedures as outlined, consistently and reliably in accordance with all safety quality expectations.

    + Interface with computer and enter data into various software platforms.

    + Demonstrated work performance to be self-directed and self-motivated.

    + Professional attitude.
