Primary Job Duties
The Lead Supervisor Airport Operations will oversee a team of supervisors across multiple hubs within the United/SkyWest system. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and efficiency in airport operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of airport operations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
The position is based out of Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and includes a mix of on-site and remote work. depending on operational needs and shift assignments. Pay ranges from $28.23 to $37.32 per hour, based on experience with SkyWest.
+ Provide supervisory oversight and performance feedback to SkyWest/UAX hub supervisors, ensuring consistent and effective operational performance
+ Establish and maintain direct relationships with appropriate personnel to advocate for SkyWest’s operational performance
+ Collaborate with United Airlines personnel and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations across hubs
+ Identify and implement process improvements
+ Analyze operational data and provide regular reports
+ Act as a liaison between local hub leadership and local SkyWest leaders
+ Manage administrative tasks for hub supervisors, such as scheduling, timekeeping, and hiring
+ Implement training programs for UAX hub supervisors
+ Disseminate shift reports and feedback to applicable leadership
+ Perform other tasks as required for the SkyWest operation and as assigned by the Regional Manager – Airport Operations (UAX)

Minimum Requirements
+ Ability to quickly learn and master new technologies and processes
+ Attention to detail and a commitment to ensure work is done properly and effectively
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
+ Proficient in basic computer programs
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
+ Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred Experience
+ Experience with SkyWest and United network systems and operational tools
+ Experience working at an airline hub
+ Understanding of an airline hub operation control center
+ Previous airline operational leadership experience
+ Working knowledge of OO/UA hub airfield and ground operations
+ Strong knowledge of airline performance metrics and nomenclature
Physical and Other Requirements
+ 18 years of age or older
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Possess a valid unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Ability to pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
+ Possess all necessary credentials to obtain airport credentials if needed
+ Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods
+ This is a full-time position
+ This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
