    Description

    The Technology and Manufacturing Group (TMG) at Skyworks is responsible for the development of all core technologies, operations, and quality while driving strategic enhancements in the way that Skyworks leverages vertical integration capabilities and manufacturing investments. TMG encompasses research and development, central engineering, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, and supply chain with the mission of building manufacturability into new technologies from inception. The organization is spearheading leading-edge industrial automation, best practices and analytics into all aspects of the operation and addresses the crucial demand for timely and flawless introduction of new technologies.

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Manager, External Sourcing provides leadership to our Foundry/OSAT sourcing function including direct materials and services.

    Responsibilities:

    + Responsible for developing and strategies for assigned accounts

    + Contribute to drive category supplier strategy development

    + Identify and execute value generation initiatives

    + Communicate and coordinate with business units and senior management including insightful analytics to support improved cost reduction and business decisions

    + Actively participate to drive a strategic procurement culture across Skyworks

    + Prioritize and execute an evolving portfolio of strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost reduction and ensure capacity and supply continuity

    + Enable achievement of business unit objectives and of goals of the organization

    + Work with business leaders to develop a comprehensive approach to sourcing and spend management

    + Assess external market trends and conditions to identify opportunities and risks in supply categories

    + Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts reflecting the results of sourcing initiatives including achievement of key terms

    + Manage market and supply risks with appropriate legal terms and conditions

    + Educate end users about new contracts; track and ensure compliance

    + Establish and maintain world‐class supplier development and relationship management practices

    + Support procedures for reviewing supplier performance against contracted obligations/service levels and business expectations

    + Anticipate and minimize performance issues via creation, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs)

    + Identify root causes when performance issues emerge and drive to efficient resolution by working across both internal and external stakeholders

    + Ensure process integrity through compliance with internal policies and controls

    + Comply to laws, regulations, and ethical standards set by the company and government authorities

     

    Required Experience and Skills

     

    + 12 years overall job experience

    + 10+ years of strategic sourcing and supplier relations experience and 5+ years leading strategic operations teams in a senior role for a $2B+ company

    + Existing working relationships and history with Foundries and the ability to establish relationships are essential.

    + Extensive experience with new product development processes and teams, including the ability to establish early visibility of the new product requirements and planning for their impact on the supply chain

    + Track record of year‐over‐year delivery of distinctive value from strategic supply chain activities

    + Demonstrated success in managing internal customers; skilled at developing stakeholder relationships and effective communications for input and alignment

    + Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences

    + Excellent negotiation skills; Excellent understanding of contract negotiation, development, and law

    + Extensive knowledge of risk‐management strategies

    + Strong leadership abilities toward the development of a strong team

    + Stay involved in wide ranging planning cycles from short term to multi-year sourcing activities

    + Drive sourcing performance efficiency, capability, and capacity optimization

    + Set targets and deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery)

    + Strong collaborator, able to manage interdepartmental communication and documentation

    + Experience leading strategic sourcing and procurement operations both domestic, in a high-volume semiconductor or related environment

     

    The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $129,400 - $247,800 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock. These incentives and awards are based on individual and/or company performance.
