    Job Description

    **Scope:** The physician provides occupational medicine support to the business and to the Global Employee Health (GEH) organization, to fulfill our mission of protecting people, product, and research.

     

    This role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of occupational health professionals within the Global Employee Health organization. Creating and maintaining strong partnerships with our key stakeholders in other departments (Safety, Occupational Toxicology, management, HR, etc.) will be essential. The physician provides guidance, supervision, and clinical services for our Company's medical surveillance program.

     

    The physician will also oversee key elements of our global employee and occupational health programs at Company sites in the EMEAC region (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Canada) and work with our occupational health vendors to ensure optimal provision of care.

     

    This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hour or weekend on-call responsibilities. The physician is required to be On Site. Domestic and International travel will be required, approximately 10-20%.

     

    **Location:** Primary location is our Company's West Point, PA, site.

    **Requirements:** PA and NJ MD/DO licensure required. Board certification in Occupational Medicine required. DEA licensure required. BLS and ACLS required. Current MRO certification or willingness to obtain this.

    **Experience:** Relevant work experience in Occupational Health preferred. Experience in and/or affinity with Biosafety and Toxicology strongly preferred. Working experience as a physician, or even in Occupational Medicine, in EMEAC is a plus.

    + Moderate to advanced computer proficiency, should possess the skills required to work with speed and ease in Outlook, Word, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint and Excel

    + Provides training and support for GEH staff members (e.g. clinical questions and development, literature reviews, program updates etc.)

    + Competency in OSHA mandated health programs, PA & NJ workers’ compensation regulations, and federal, PA & NJ health and safety regulations

    Clinical Responsibilities:

    + Performing OSHA mandated and Corporate medical surveillance activities and evaluations and supports escalations for medical surveillance

    + Injury and incident management for employee health urgencies (acute medical care, referral to external care as indicated, exposures, fitness for duty, substance abuse)

    + Consultant on complex Return-to-Work cases for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Workers’ Compensation, and workplace accommodations

    + Fitness for Duty evaluations including mental health and Substance Abuse Program provision, with the appropriate referrals

    + Subject Matter Expert consultant to HR, HR Labor Relations, Legal, Safety, for instance, when there are concerns for fitness for duty or in the medical review for employees requesting workplace accommodations

    + Collaborative agreement/joint protocol with GEH Nurse Practitioners (PA & NJ)

    + Medical oversight of Global Employee Health staff Registered Nurses (PA & NJ)

    + Orders and interprets tests such as audiogram, spirometry, X-ray, and laboratory tests

    + Provides international travel medicine consultations

    + Medical Review Officer

    + Laboratory Director for Global Employee Health clinics (PA & NJ)

    + Performs Reproductive Health Hazard Assessments

    + Supports development and implementation of employee health and well-being activities

    General Responsibilities:

    + Back-up for two Regional Employee Health Directors in the US and for the Global Employee Health Executive Director

    + Works collaboratively with relevant stakeholders inside and outside the Company (Safety, management, HR, Facilities, Security, occupational health vendors etc.) and serves as a subject matter expert in occupational medicine

    + Creates and maintains excellent working relationships with regional and site stakeholders (Safety, plant managers, HR, Global Security etc.)

    + Provides medical and program oversight of occupational medicine programs in EMEAC. This function specifically ensures compliance with local, country, and regional regulatory requirements and guidance with regards to occupational health, as well as ensuring compliance with all our Company's medical surveillance programs

    + Develops and maintains close working relationships with EMEAC occupational health staff and with the occupational health vendors who are providing medical services to our sites. This includes onboarding of occupational health vendors and professionals to Company programs and expectations

    + Participates in Company or site committees and work groups as occupational health subject matter expert

    + May be tasked with offering occupational medicine support to LATAM, North America and Asia-Pacific Regions

    Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

    + Ensuring compliance with all Global Employee Health and OSHA mandated medical surveillance programs, procedures and guidelines, and State and Federal regulations, both in the US and in regions under their oversight ex-US.

    + Creation, revision and development of occupational health programs and practice and policy guidelines, in collaboration with the GEH Leadership Team (documents and protocols)Implementation and enhancement of the global GEH Quality Assurance program for employee health deliverables, including performing audits, as necessaryImplementation and oversight for the global occupational illness trend program in EMEAC

    + Develops and maintains metric collection in support of Global Employee Health program assessments

    Biosafety and Toxicology Responsibilities** **:

    + Member of corporate Institutional Biosafety Committees and reviewer of Biosafety Risk Assessments for Company sites in the EMEAC region or in other regions

    + Collaboration with corporate and site-based biosafety professionals to evaluate and manage biosafety, including assessing new product introductions and responding to potential biosafety incidents

    + Member of the Industrial Toxicology A​​​​dvisory Committee (ITAC)​​​​​​

    + Delivers occupational medicine expertise to and works in close collaboration with Occupational Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene both in site-based and in global teams.

    + May be tasked with delivering hazard training for employees and/or GEH staff.

    The salary range for this role is

     

    $187,000.00 - $294,400.00

     

    This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

     

    The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
