Job Title: Department SecretaryDepartment: Healthy Moms - Front End Location: St Mary's Campus - 75 Genesee St, Rochester, NY 14611 Hours Per Week: Per DiemSchedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, to help support shift coverage SUMMARY:As Department Secretary, you are the first point of contact for our patients and their families, welcoming them to our department. You keep our department organized and running smoothly for both our patients and RRH personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Patient Support. Answer/screen calls, forward to appropriate personnel; schedule appointments; notify patients of process and documentation/records needed for visit; register new patients
+ General Administration. Manage check-in and check-out; schedule appointments; file and maintain pending charts; ensure system and patient information is up to date; distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail; make copies as necessary; respond to voicemails, e-mail and records request in a timely fashion
+ Billing. Complete cash reconciliation daily; apply all third-party payer and patient payments to patient accounts; enter and maintain the integrity of all patient demographics and third party payer information in the applicable lab and billing systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ None.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Associates degree preferred.
+ 2 years clerical experience preferred.
+ For ElderONE only: 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred.

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
