    * **Work location:** Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

    * Therapy Services

    + **Work hours:** On an as needed basis: must sign up for 2 weekend days per quarter on call (submit 4 dates you are available and then you are scheduled for 2 of those dates)

    + Weekend on call is from 8 am - 10 am for new stroke evals that have failed a nursing swallow screen, discharge pending patients, and newly extubated patient.

    + Major holiday on-call requirement: in a rotating list, to where you work 1 major holiday.

    * Supporting the 815-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930.

    * Supportive team in an acute care trauma hospital.

    Here's What You Need

    * Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or

    Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required

    * SLP Experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient setting.

    * SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or

     

    SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology Intern License Upon Hire Required

    SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Preferred

    * Need to have clinical certificate of competence CCC-SLP And

    * BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.

    * Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

    * Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.

    * Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

    What You Will Do

    * Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

    * Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.

    * Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home

     

    programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

     

    * Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

    * Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
