Must live within a 40 mile radius of Statesville Location or in one of the following counties in west central North Carolina which include Alexander, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stokes, Wilkes and Yadkin.

TEKsystems Client is looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer with minimum 2-3 years supporting a Nutanix virtualization environment (Roughly 200 servers). This will be the main responsibility of this candidate but they will also be expected to learn (Hopefully already have some experience) the other portions of their infrastructure O365, Entra ID, etc. This person will be the right hand "person" to the manager and is expected to have great communication skills and leadership skills.

As a Sr Infrastructure Engineer, you'll serve as a technical leader across both systems and network architecture. You’ll:

Architect and implement solutions in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and cloud migration initiatives

Support and manage Office 365, SharePoint Online, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and related services

Maintain and optimize Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure and VMware environments

Balance support for both on-premise systems and cloud-based platforms

Manage and enhance backup strategies, disaster recovery, and business continuity systems

Lead infrastructure projects tied to our strategic shift toward cloud-first technologies

Support core network services, including virtual networks, firewalls, wireless access, and DNS/DHCP

Collaborate with cybersecurity and application teams to deliver secure, scalable systems

Serve as an escalation point for complex system and infrastructure issues

Participate in our on-call rotation and support storm/emergency response when needed

What You Bring

5-10 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure (systems and network)

Demonstrated experience with:

Strong understanding of core networking concepts and virtual networking

Effective communicator with strong troubleshooting and project leadership skills

Bonus If You Have

AZ-104 certification (AZ-900 required)

Experience with Microsoft Teams/VoIP platforms

Exposure to Linux, SolarWinds, or Cisco environments

Work Environment & Flexibility

Hybrid role with primary location in Statesville, NC

Occasional travel and in-office presence based on project needs, in office days on Monday’s and Thursdays

Participation in a rotating on-call schedule

Standard hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with flexibility during outages or emergencies.
