DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Execute software solutions, design, development, test and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study. plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Building cloud-native, scalable, resilient, highly available, and performant applications using Java 17, JEE, and security-hardened OSS cloud-native libraries; developing software or microservices that deploy as REST APIs to a private cloud environment as well as public cloud environments such as AWS; developing cost-effective software using serverless computing infrastructure such as AWS Lambda, AWS ECS Fargate, AWS Batch, or AWS Step Functions and ETL services such as AWS Glue; building robust and cost-optimized data store solutions using technologies such as AWS S3 Intelligent-Tiering storage or AWS Glacier; developing software utilizing Spring and Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC, Spring Rest, and Maven or Gradle; developing and packaging applications containerized with Docker and deploying to container- orchestrated environments including Kubernetes in AWS EKS or AWS Fargate; developing applications with high performant data operations to store and retrieve data using RDBMS including Oracle and Postgre SQL, as well as NoSQL databases including MongoDB and Cassandra DB; building high performant, responsive, and user-friendly UI applications using ReactJS, NodeJS, JSP, HTML, and CSS; developing highly performant, scalable, and adaptable application integration frameworks using enterprise integration patterns and messaging tools including Apache Kafka and Spring Integration; performing application performance testing using production-like loads with BlazeMeter and JMeter, analyzing performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL queries and application integrations to improve overall end-to-end application performance and end-user experience; and designing and building telemetry and usage tracking solutions for BI tools to improve application governance and monitoring by using telemetric tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
