Our team is seeking a motivated leader **(Systems Engineering Manager 1)** to lead our field engineering team aligned to the Targeting Systems Operating Unit (TSOU). The manager will lead and manage a team of technicians and engineers focused on the sustainment, maintenance, field support, and repair operations for the LITENING product line and the F-16 Block 60 platform.
As required, the manager will also direct planning activities related to sustainment and field engineering support for restricted targeting programs. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
This position is an on-site position located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, USA.
The manager will report to the Field Engineering Department Manager based out of Rolling Meadows, Illinois aligned to the Targeting & Survivability division, Mission Systems sector.
Roles & Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all team operations; responsible for the direct supervision, management, mentorship, and professional development of all assigned staff.
+ Provide objective-oriented direction to all assigned staff utilizing management guidelines & general policies.
+ Support frequent contact with internal stakeholders and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning repair status, priorities, and options.
+ Maintain the staff, material resources, and infrastructure to meet or exceed our program KPIs/metrics in a dynamic environment; ensure all expense reporting is completed in a timely manner.
+ Ensure that repairs, evaluations and field support are executed on schedule and within budget; drive results through the efficient application of experienced non-exempt or exempt staff who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.

+ Support all applicable site leadership status meetings, business area reviews, and program management reviews; support proposal activity and business development activities related to TSOU.
+ Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) (as applicable) which includes responsibilities related to earned value (EV) management, planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of repair, evaluation, and refurbishment on customer returned products for technical services-type contracts.
+ Support organizational initiatives, process improvement initiatives, and/or employee retention efforts, as required.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS** :
+ Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
+ 2 years leadership and supervisory experience in government maintenance, operations, field engineering, and/or design engineering, with a track record of successfully managing multi-functional teams within a fast-paced environment, emphasizing results and accountability.
+ Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
+ Must be able to obtain an active DoD SECRET clearance. Interim Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field
+ Knowledge of EO/IR targeting systems with practical experience in both the design and sustainment phases of the product lifecycle.
+ Strong analytical abilities, with experience in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
+ Military training and service in technical fields related to aircraft maintenance, logistics, or avionics operations.
+ Support organizational initiatives, process improvement initiatives, and/or employee retention efforts, as required.
+ Familiarity with overseas deployment considerations, including the planning and execution of operational strategies that address unique logistical and regulatory challenges in diverse international environments.
+ Familiarity with export/import regulations and logistics processes.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
Primary Level Salary Range: $124,000.00 - $186,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
