Job Description
The CSA Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all civil, structural, and architectural components of a life sciences construction project meet the required quality requirements in the design drawings, specification, standards, and codes. This role involves conducting monitoring contractors, inspections, reviewing documentation, and coordinating with project teams to maintain compliance throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control:
+ Review project documents (e.g., Safety, Site Quality Manual, ITPs, QVDs, specifications, drawings, applicable codes, standards, practices, and local regulations, etc.)
+ Collaborate with sub-contractors to develop and implement inspection and test plans (ITPs) specific to CSA disciplines.
+ Conduct routine inspections of civil works (e.g., soil, piles, bedding, backfill, foundations, concrete, grading, asphalt paving), structural steel, roofing, cleanroom, and architectural finishes.
+ Verify sub-contractors’ compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes (e.g., IBC, ASCE, ACI, ASTM).
+ Verify sub-contractor’s QC are monitoring, testing and documenting construction activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and standards.
+ Witness various testing activities (e.g., soil, compaction, concrete, asphalt paving, bolt torquing, vacuum testing, electronic leak detection, cleanroom validation/cleanroom certification, etc.).
Documentation & Reporting:
+ Maintain detailed records of inspections, non-conformances, corrective actions, quality verification documents (QVDs), and test results.
+ Prepare daily and weekly surveillance reports for project stakeholders.
+ Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for quality compliance.
Coordination & Communication:
+ Interface with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality issues.
+ Participate in quality-related meetings and provide input on construction readiness and compliance.
+ Support turnover activities by reviewing documentation, monitoring sub-contractor’s system walking downs, verifying punch list completion and final inspections.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance:
+ Safety First, comply with company safety requirements.
+ Attend safety meetings, contractor’s JSA/STA meeting.
+ Participate in safety programs.
+ Provide safety topics and suggestions in meeting.
+ Ensure all work complies with local building codes, life sciences industry standards (e.g., GMP, FDA), and safety regulations.
+ Identify and report unsafe practices or conditions during inspections.
+ Other related duties may be assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
+ Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if there is no accreditation; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
+ Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
+ Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
+ Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
+ Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Other Job Requirements
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in CSA inspection/engineering, preferably in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech projects with clean rooms.
+ Certifications such as ACI, ASQ CQI, ICC, or equivalent.
+ Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and QA/QC procedures.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
+ Familiarity with QA/QC software and documentation tools.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, and Teams etc.), and project management tools.

Market Rate Statement: The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range: $92,500.00 - $162,500.00
