We are seeking a Mission Ops Technical Lead/Staff Software Engineer to join our talented team as a SW Mission Ops Technical Lead. This position is located on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Investigation Facility (SCIF) located in Redondo Beach, CA, and offers domestic and international travel opportunities.
The Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software (SW) Integrated Project Team (IPT) is a large, restricted group executing across both Development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts. The SW Engineering IPT focuses on the development and sustainment of several operational SW mission product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with their restricted SCI Customer.
The SW IPT is a large team comprising of multiple subsystems, each with a specialized software focus. We are looking for an energetic and passionate technical lead to join our team as we work to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in support of our customer’s national security mission in the areas of Ground Enterprise Modernization and Transition Discrepancy Reports (DRs). In this role you will coordinate all deliveries, DR resolution, and baseline needs with external stakeholders. With a focus on operational support, you will be the forward-facing point of contact for all software issues. Deployment of newly developed software capabilities, which will require high coordination across multiple test and operational locations, will be a core function of this lead role.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 12 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree; 10 years of relevant experience with Master's degree; 8 years of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
+ Active Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI) required at the time of application, and the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (SCI) prior to start
+ Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with programming/scripting languages: C. C++. Java, Python, Perl)
+ Previous participation in an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process
+ Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
+ Experience developing in a Linux environment using git
+ Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
+ Active SCI security clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
