Summary This position is assigned to the Fleet & Family Readiness Division, Navy Region Hawaii; Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Intramurals Department (N921); located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, HI. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clerical support to the Sports and Fitness Program Director, as well as multiple facilities throughout the Program and JBPHH. The area of consideration is limited to current Navy NAF employees on the island of Oahu. Responsibilities Major Duties and Responsibilities: Provides administrative and clerical support to the JB9 division head, Deputy Director and/or equivalent. Performs a variety of responsible secretarial, and administrative duties requiring a substantial level of judgment, experience and discretion. Screens calls and visitors, personally handles many requests for information and refers others as appropriate. Types correspondence, reports and other materials. Maintains various files, regulations, manuals and directives. May take and transcribe dictation. Reads all incoming correspondence, determining proper action. Reviews outgoing correspondence and reports ensuring proper format. Keeps the Division Head's calendar and schedules appointments and meetings according to his/her workload and current issues of importance. Handles matters and situation of a confidential and sensitive nature. Performs independently with daily responsibilities. May direct the activities of other employees engaged in a variety of clerical and typing duties, assign and review their work. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate must possess: A minimum of one year of experience in responsible cleric al support work which demonstrates ability to perform the work of the position under general supervision. Work involved requires a high level of commitment to the polices and program goals of the division. Must posses demonstrated office work knowledge and experience in order to accomplish responsible clerical duties. Must have knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and ability to type, operate a computer with peripherals, and adapt to various software applications. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication. Education This position does not have a positive education requirement. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
