About You and This Role -What you will do in this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Services and Security (ES&S) Technician in Carrollton, KY! The purpose of this job is to provide emergency response and security services to the Carrollton site.
Responsibilities -Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
+ The protection of company assets by responding to fires, spills, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, confined space and elevated rescues, and security incidents.
+ Preparation of key emergency response equipment and systems, communication internally and externally including the activation of community notification systems; Provide effective security services for the site.
+ Investigating and documenting emergencies and security incidents.
+ Ability to think clearly and calmly under stress.
+ Able to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems within the Emergency Services and Security (ES&S) area of responsibility.
+ Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
+ Able to communicate with a diverse population spread across the site, while effectively interacting with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.
+ Have strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.
+ Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately.
+ Has strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications -Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
+ A minimum of High School diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Must have or be willing to earn EMT-Basic or EMR certifications.
+ A minimum of two years’ experience in industrial emergency response and/or medical services.
+ Proficient in computers and able to review/modify documents and policies/procedures.

+ Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift position.
+ Able to work overtime as needed.
+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications -An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential
+ An associate’s degree or higher in Fire Science, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management or other related fieldsand/or3+ years of relevant military experience.
+ Participation in an Emergency Response Team.
+ 3+ years of experience in Dispatch 3-5 years in a high stress environment.
+ Previous Law Enforcement, Military, Environmental, or Safety Background.
+ A minimum of two years’ experience in process operations.
+ Volunteer or Career Fire Fighting Experience.
+ Confined Space Rescue Experience.
+ HazMat Technician certification.
Skills- Specific abilities and expertise required to perform tasks effectively in this role
+ Emergency Response Proficiency: Ability to respond effectively to fires, spills, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, and rescues in confined or elevated spaces.
+ Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to assess situations, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions under pressure.
+ Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication, especially in high-stress situations and with diverse teams across the site.
+ Technical and Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computer systems and emergency response equipment to perform job tasks and document incidents.
+ Interpersonal and Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple functions and individuals to achieve safety and security goals.
+ Organizational and Time Management: Skilled in managing multiple priorities, maintaining readiness of emergency systems, and documenting incidents accurately.
+ Safety and Compliance Focus: Strong commitment to safety standards, including adherence to smoke-free and drug-free policies, and readiness to wear protective equipment and work in hazardous environments.
Physical Requirements
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
+ Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.
+ Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
+ Stand 50% of the time.
+ Walk for extended periods of time.
+ Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
+ Work in tight and closed in spaces.
+ Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator and SCBA.
+ Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.
+ Work in an area with hazardous materials.
