    Position Summary:

    Transports patients and supplies to and from patient care areas and various other departments. Supports nursing staff.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    + Transports patients between departments and units as directed

    + Supports nursing staff by performing nurse aide duties when needed

    + Transports specimens, supplies and equipment to and from departments as directed

    + Stocks patient care areas and compiles charts

    + Performs other department related duties as assigned

    Required:

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program, or 6 months experience as a Nursing Assistant in a Healthcare facility, or completion of fundamentals if enrolled in an Accredited School of Nursing program

    + BLS certification within 3 months of hire

    Preferred:

    + Current State of Michigan certification

    + Previous experience as a Nurse Aide

    + Medical terminology
