    Your Specific Responsibilities:

    Assist with consultant contracts in accordance with applicable rules, laws and procedures. Ensure the quality and timeliness of the work product meets customer expectations. Take action to correct any deficiency in service.

     

    Evaluate project/process to determine current performance status. Recommend improvements to optimize delivery or improve results.

     

    Review Quality Control plans, Construction plans, specifications, procedures and any other documents necessary to execute the Department’s mission. Provide clear comments as requested in time to be useful to the customer. Offer solutions when objecting to the approach that is proposed.

     

    Serves as Back-up to the Purchasing Agent. Prepares, reviews and processes purchase orders/direct orders as needed using Ariba system and/or Purchasing Card through the Works system. Assists with purchases for unit as a P-card “Card Holder” and “Requester” in the states E-Procurement System. Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and warrants for the payment of services rendered. Receives and submits invoices for payments meeting state determined purchasing guidelines. Provides budget information to management to ensure spending meets budgetary requirements as needed. Reconcile and maintain budgetary records for the unit.

    The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

    + The concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of Materials – Contracts.

    + Knowledge of engineering design, construction, production and/or operations.

    + Knowledge of budget management and/or procurement of goods and services and invoice processing.

    Skills in:

    + Skilled in using engineering tools, equipment and/or instruments.

    Ability to:

    + Ability to operate a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

    + Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data.

    + Ability to solve problems related to engineering.

    + Ability to apply engineering quantitative techniques.

    + Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

    + Ability to communicate engineering information effectively.

    + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

    Other Job-Related Requirements:

    + Must pass or have passed Construction Math and Contract Plans Reading Self Study examinations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Prior experience operating a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet and or database applications.

    + Prior experience coordinating and monitoring contracts and experience with adhering to the provisions and requirements of Section 215.422, F.S. related to State Comptroller’s rules and Department of Transportations invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.

    + Possess a High School diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency. This position will be required to respond before, during and following emergency situations.
