    Job Title Coordinator of Athletics and ActivitiesReports to High School and Middle School Activities Directors

     

    Norwalk Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a Coordinator of Athletics and Activities. This position will provide administrative oversight of the athletics and activities department, manage the Bound system, manage social media accounts and serve as site manager and game/event manager for events.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    + A minimum of a BA in education, sports management, events management or a related field.

    + Frequent communication via email, text and phone with coaches, directors and sponsors

    + Proficiency in platforms such as Google Suite, Bound, Hy Tek, Track Wrestling, and management of video boards, streaming platforms and scoreboards

    + 1-3 years experience working in athletics management or events coordination preferred.

    Position Duties and Responslibilities:

    + Administrative oversight of the athletics and activities departments for the High School and Middle School including purchase orders, bill payment and cash deposits.

    + Oversight of the Bound management system, which includes student registration, facility managements, roster oversight, online ticketing and camp set up and coordination.

    + Management of social media accounts (X and Instagram) in coordination with High School and Middle School Activities Director. Serve as primary social media (to include Parent Square communication), print and digital media coordinator for K-12 athletics and activities. Assist with special events such as signing day and summer camps.

    + Manage technology for events, including scoreboards, video boards, and streaming platforms.

    + Provide flexible and responsive support during evenings, weekends and other non-traditional hours

    + Create, organize and supervise district athletic and activities events and schedules, including but not limited to K-12 activities and summer camps.

    + Oversee the preparation and set-up of district events.

    + Serve as site manager in lieu of the Activities Director(s).

    + Serve as game/event manager as directed by the Activities Director(s). This includes but is not limited to preparing for home events (tickets, money, set-up, clean-up, spectator control, welcoming away teams’ buses, officials and concessions)

    + Coordinate equipment management with head coaches. This includes, but is not limited to, sending out equipment to be recertified, coordinating collecting/distribution procedures, communicating equipment needs with the Activities Director, establishing equipment storage and inventory plans)

    + Ensure submission of evaluations by the Activities Directors on all head and assistant coaches.

    + Manage and supervise all volunteers, including volunteer coaches and sponsors, ticket takers.

    + Manage all event staff, including announcing, clock managers, and other staff needed for the event.

    + Ensure compliance with necessary certification for all coaches including licensure, required trainings, and any other requirements under district, state or national regulations.

    + Certify weekly academic eligibility.

    + Coordinate internal use of district facilities.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Terms of Employment:

    12 month position (approximately 220 days per year). Employment per board policies and administrative rules and regulations.

    Evaluation:

    Performance evaluated annually by the High School and Middle School Activities Director.
