    The **Manager – Project Cost Controls & Scheduling** is a senior level professional that manages the cost controls, estimating, and scheduling function. The team assists in the development and management of project estimates, project schedules, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively manages a team who ensures adequate project contingency is allocated and managed for each large project and works with the Project Manager to develop accurate project cash flows ensuring the cash flows are budgeted accordingly; monitors the financial spend on projects for accuracy and reporting and is responsible for all financial reporting on large projects via monthly reports and variance reporting as well as augmenting various executive team, board, and corporate financial reports; ensures appropriate level project schedules are developed per stage gate requirements; supports individual project and portfolio reporting of earned value KPIs and ECPM dashboards; documents and monitors each project risk log as well as assisting the Project Manager by generating all material and service requisitions and assisting in material expediting

    Key Responsibilities

    + Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence

    + Establish and drives a culture of accountability, ownership and excellence within the PMO

    + Manage large capital project cost management activities related to the development of cost estimates, monthly updates of estimate at complete, development and update of contingency and management reserves, adherence to month end accounting and quarterly budget cash flow schedules, tracking and analysis of project costs, maintenance of work breakdown structures and development of project chart of accounts, and financial project cost closeout.

    + Manage large capital project cost management process to ensure all corporate planning and budget deadlines are met by maintaining collaborative relationships with accounting and finance teams and ensures ECPMs processes are aligned to support the corporate timeline.

    + Manages development of project schedules leveraging P6 and tracks earned value metrics in addition to critical path activities.

    + Manage and maintain large capital project financial and project portfolio reporting in P6 and Power BI, along with supporting the development of project execution plans to ensure sufficient resources are assigned to provide quality project management activities

    + Responsible for ensuring team strives to achieve World Class Safety Performance by maintaining a safe working environment for employees and contractors, complying with all safety rules, procedures, and regulations, and creating a culture of safety in the workplace and jobsite.

    + Be fully engaged in PM accountability meetings by asking pertinent questions that enable better understanding for the PM and the group

    + Provides team members with individual and group development opportunities including training, performance planning, feedback and appraisals and general performance management.

    + Manages process of creating purchase requisitions and tracking commitments against the capital project budget. Collect, coordinate, monitor and track cost data with contractors, vendors and project team members to manage project forecast.

    + Provides support to estimators and Project Managers in developing contingency and management reserves for budget, managing budget transfers, processing budget changes, and managing contingency drawdown/release.

    + Provides support to Project Managers/Construction Managers with cost management, the cost aspects of risk and issue management development of comprehensive project estimates and cash flow forecasts.

    + Provides support to Project Managers with schedule management, critical activities, earned value metrics and project schedule updates.

    Qualifications

    Required Education, Skills & Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum

    + 5+ years of related experience

    + 2-5+ years people management experience, preferred

    + Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism

    + Ability to interact with all levels of employees to address difficult issues

    + Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities

    + Ability to operate effectively and proactively with an employee centric mindset

    + Detailed-oriented and high work standards in support of seamless execution

    + Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret KPIs/metrics and derive insights into actionable opportunities

    + Drive issues to resolution while maintaining an atmosphere of collaboration

    + Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and technology trends

    + Excel at delivering change management to ensure the change is sustainable and the benefits are realized

    + This level is based only on availability in approved org design/structure; strict adherence is required.

    + Progression to this level is strictly restricted on the basis of critical individual capabilities and business requirements

    Licenses and Certifications
