    What you'll bring to the team

    Job Purpose:

    Responsible for buildings, utilities, engineering (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, sound) and trades (carpentry, masonry, painting, signage, crafts). Responsibility extends to the safety of guests and employees, ensuring safety as the #1 priority. Supports hotel maintenance team and completion of engineering projects within areas of assigned responsibility. Supports projects engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment and in the maintenance of buildings and utility systems of the Hotel. Responsible for overseeing projects, tickets and being in position to perform work on capital projects within the property boundaries and within project budgets

    Essential Job Functions:

    + Keeps safety as #1 priority. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows instructions of handling materials based on their SDS (safety data sheets).

    + Always follow LEGOLAND California policies and procedures.

    + Ensures compliance with internal maintenance, safety, and security procedures by following established ASTM, NEC, State and local electrical codes, and loss prevention guidelines.

    + Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

    + Must be at least 18 years old.

    + Follows established maintenance programs, including any emergency repairs as required to keep down time to an acceptable minimum.

    + Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.

    + Operates simple machine tools, such as drill presses, power saws, grinders, power drills, hand tools, etc.

    + Recognizes equipment that needs repair, replacing, or adjusting and reports it to supervisor.

    + Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and proper working order.

    + Attends department training, supplemental courses, and seminars to stay up to date on updated technical information and products.

    + Is a liaison with fellow maintenance MCs and other departments.

    + Responds to emergency calls within the hotels, for repairs and maintenance as directed by the maintenance supervisor.

    + Requires a demonstrated flexibility to handle a wide range of highly complex and challenging duties throughout the hotels, with extreme care, focused attention, and skillful precision.

    + Ability to work outdoors in any weather condition.

    + Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time, and long distances.

    + Advises working supervisor and/or management of any discrepancies in equipment or tools.

    + Ensures that all work assigned is completed and of good sound workmanship.

    + Must have experience in basic painting, plumbing, Drywall repair and patching, electrical, carpentry etc.

    + Stays informed and updated on modern techniques and technical methods.May be required to assist in a variety of other maintenance-related tasks depending on the needs of the department and employee capabilities.

    Qualifications & Experience

    + Requires a minimum of four years of experience in facilities maintenance and repair.

    + Minimum of 4 years of construction experience.

    + Considerable knowledge of the practices, tools, and equipment used to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems is required.

    + Must be able to react under pressure or in an emergency in a calm and rational manner.

    + Ability to read and evaluate reports and correspondence. Must be proficient in basic math skills. Ability to read blueprints. A friendly, polite, guest service-oriented demeanor is required

    + Education:A high school diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required.
