What You'll Be Doing
**Job Scope:** We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in industrial power distribution to support Plant Engineering Services in a chemical manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electrical power delivery across all plant systems, including high-demand process equipment, safety systems, and environmental controls.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
+ Design, maintain, and optimize medium and low-voltage power distribution systems tailored to chemical processing operations.
+ Develop , Review, and Approve all electrical deliverables.
+ Specify electrical infrastructure including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and related equipment.
+ Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and OSHA standards, as well as chemical industry-specific safety protocols.
+ Develop and maintain electrical documentation including single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
+ Contribute to establishing and revising electrical area classifications
+ Ensure equipment meets the requirements of the hazardous area designation.
+ Validating project and construction estimates at the beginning of a project and then tracking changes as the project progresses.
+ Initiating timely change notices when scope change affects schedule, deliverables or cost.
+ Utilizing and following department design and drafting standards.
+ Reviewing and verifying calculations made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice.
+ Assisting the engineering designers in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.

Ideal Background
**Education:** Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
**Registration:** Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
**Experience:** This position requires 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical engineering.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Skilled in performing engineering and design functions.
+ Skilled in verbal and written communication
+ Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.
+ Ability to perform design for electrical equipment and infrastructure including, but not limited to: voltage drop calculations, lighting, raceway designs, MCC and substation loading.
+ Ability to create accurate electrical installation documents from the information found on vendor equipment drawings.
+ Ability to develop equipment specifications for low and medium voltage equipment such as motor control centers, variable frequency drivers, induction and synchronous motors, load center unit substations, etc.
+ Ability to produce a 15kV power system single line diagram and related drawings.
+ Ability to perform calculations for required short circuit and overcurrent protective device ratings.
+ Knowledge and application of the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
+ Knowledge of 15kV power system equipment and installation techniques both above and below ground.
+ Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements to produce all electrical deliverables.
+ Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
+ Knowledge of programmable Logic controller (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and/or Distributed Control System (DCS) equipment, Protection Relays (SEL, GE)

+ Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
