    The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

    Position Summary:

    We’re searching for a Treasury Relationship Associate to support the Energy & Power vertical within MUFG’s Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). This team covers oil & gas, investor-owned utilities, independent power producers, renewable developers, as well as our Commodity Finance and Project Finance teams. The individual will assist 1–2 Treasury Relationship Managers (TRMs) in managing their portfolios, marketing treasury products, solutions, and services to complex corporate clients and prospects in these sectors.

    In addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role will provide direct support to the Head of Energy & Power and Commercial Card Growth Organization by:

    + Preparing monthly financial reporting for the Energy & Power vertical and Commercial Card business.

    + Conducting pipeline trend reporting and analysis.

    + Driving strategic projects aimed at improving reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency across these functions.

    Major Responsibilities

    70% Business Development & Account Management

    + Partner with TRMs to cultivate new business opportunities by building strong relationships with coverage partners and corporate clients in Energy & Power.

    + Leverage MUFG’s credit position and client relationships to identify cross-sell opportunities for treasury products.

    + Participate in annual account planning sessions, focusing on wallet share, competitive positioning, and strategies to grow cross-sell penetration.

    + Analyze complex treasury structures and create tailored proposals and pricing models for Energy & Power clients.

    + Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and detailed sales tracking for the portfolio.

    + Recommend exception pricing for large deals to the review committee and ensure alignment with client needs.

    + Collaborate with Product Management to enhance existing offerings and identify new treasury solutions relevant to the Energy & Power industry.

    20% Strategic Reporting & Analysis

    + Prepare monthly financial reports for Energy & Power and Commercial Card Growth Organization.

    + Track and analyze pipeline trends to identify growth opportunities and performance gaps.

    + Support strategic initiatives to improve reporting processes, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.

    10% Risk Management

    + Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Privacy Act, and Regulations Q & X (RESPA).

    + Verify completion of all required forms and processes (CIP, KYC, SARs, CTR, etc.) within designated timelines.

    + Complete all mandatory compliance training and adhere to account opening and suspicious activity referral procedures.

    + Work closely with clients to understand their business activities, working capital structure, liquidity strategy (net borrower vs. net investor), and propose competitive treasury management solutions.

    The Right Candidate Will Have

    + Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. Internship or prior experience in financial services, treasury, or corporate banking strongly desired.

    + 1+ years of experience in sales and relationship management support, ideally at a peer cash management institution.

    + Knowledge of sales techniques, bank lending policies, treasury operations, and familiarity with federal and state banking regulations.

    + Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is a plus.

    + Strong understanding of treasury management concepts, working capital metrics (DPO, DSO), and industry benchmarking.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present solutions, negotiate, and close opportunities.

    + Financial acumen and ability to deliver thought leadership in treasury solutions for Energy & Power clients.

    + Strong analytical skills with experience in financial reporting and trend analysis.

     

    The typical base pay range for this role is between $77K - $95K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
